This is one of the best mystery thrillers I've read in quite a while. Crawford gives you a glimpse into the dark mind of an elusive serial killer, and the dark mind of the retired detective chasing him. Taryn Winter is an undeniable badass, but her strengths lie in her vulnerabilities. Atone is a fun read that draws unexpected emotional connections with its characters. It's the perfect follow up to Underbelly. I can't wait to see what's next! Atone is a great follow up to Underbelly, and will keep you hooked till the end! Crawford's descriptive writing of the scenery and scenes is impressive. |
Atone is an outstanding, and very well named, conclusion to the story that started in Underbelly; Underbelly left me completely speechless but Karen Crawford has really hit one out of the park with Atone. The writing is vivid and dramatic and I was so invested in the story that I had more than my fair share of gasp out loud moments. The character development is excellent and as Karen Crawford gives us a glimpse inside their minds, I felt like I knew them personally. I am most definitely a huge fan of the Taryn Winter Crime Thriller series and I can't wait to see what her next case might be. Riveting! I ordered this book immediately after finishing Underbelly because I wanted to know what happened next. Once I started reading it, I could not put it down. This book is entertaining the whole way through, and keeps the reader on her toes until the very end... which left me wondering and eagerly anticipating the next book in the Taryn Winter saga. I love the descriptive language and the references to familiar spots in northern Arizona! I highly recommend both Underbelly and Atone as great reads! That was an awesome sequel. I loved this read, I was so enthralled by the story. What a spectacular villain, I loved to hate him. I thought all the characters meshed well together in telling their stories. |
