A book that will shock you. A book that terrifies. A book that will grab you by the scruff of your neck and won't let go till the very last chapter. Housewife does not disappoint! Every mother can probably relate to how the main character feels and I love how the story explores the contrast in her feelings and reality of leaving her family behind. Lastly, I appreciated Karen’s real portrayal of addiction and not just focusing on the glamorization of the drug life. A fast, exciting, well-written book! Karen Crawford does it again! I could not put it down after page one! Learning of Erica’s story as she slips into the drug cartel world is very exciting and thrilling. You will not be disappointed when reading this book! Highly recommended! |
Karen Crawford has a helluva gift. Her seasoned ability to craft gripping, cohesive, nuanced narratives is breathtaking, and Housewife exemplifies that full-force. This book demonstrates how a just a few choices can lead to irrevocably surreal frontiers of the human experience where values are altered and priorities are abandoned. I couldn't put this book down. I was enthralled toward the end, as the emotional stakes were perfectly set. In order for redemption to occur, there needs to be something to be redeemed from. Housewife is a mesmerizing illustration of the wayward and non-linear path to redemption. It's an emotional tour de force with characters worth rooting for and against simultaneously. Fantastic story! I was immediately sucked into to the story and found it completely addictive. It was an edge of my seat, white knuckling my kindle from start to finish. The author really brought incredible details of addiction to light. Then add in the cartel and you've got a page turner. And the ending was spectacular and perfect. |
